When are we going to see this 340R out lapping us all on a trackday?

Cheers

What is a variable boost switch?
I found that most people who gat a ride in my car apreciate the brakes more than the acceleration too.

A variable boost switch varies the turbo boost pressure (oddly enough ). Not entirely sure how it works (not too hot on turbos myself, I'm more of a V8 man myself), but I can tell you it certainly does! My brakes aren't much better than they were as standard, but the slight fade I used to have is GONE, and they cool back down really quickly too. Used to have issues with the old discs not cooling down very well, but with the slots in my new ones it's all good!
One of my favourite things to tell people is that the braking distances you learn when you pass your test nowadays are all fine and dandy in a Nissan Micra, but in my RS4 you can cut those distances by 2/3! Such is the power of 6 pot Brembo's, big ol' discs and sticky P-Zero's on 8.5J wheels

'Twas only tongue in cheek lads, I just remember the days when wardrobes etc. would have been mentioned in posts like this

As for the 340R Tim, it's just had a rebuild so I'm running it in again (as of this week).
With any luck I'll fetch it along when the weather's better

I do indeed have the 6 pots, on 360mm discs up front. Had trouble squeezing them in over 380mm discs. I've not got a digital camera or even a scanner, so I'm a bit nackered for pictures! I'll see if I can get hold of a camera!

RS4 Alltheway.... the more i hear..the more i doubt.... sorry as to sound a Tw*t . But i cant really see how a 6 pot will fit on a 380mm disc on a 18 wheel, also your car running that much boost 1.8 (suicide) also a couple of other issues. Is you or aint you for real, cos im starting to doubt my own ability to work out if you are.

Good point Simon

Standard R32/33/34 no problem in a straight line with a standard RS4 Around a track I'm not too sure as all I've come across is modified ones

These monsters (550+bhp) are really awesome on long circuits, and with the electronic 4 wheel steer some are a lot quicker - although again, it's all driver dependant isn't it? Short circuits like Croft etc, then we have the upper hand as they are very bhp orientated in their tuning and dont have as much low rev torque as some of us do

To be honest, if I didnt have the RS4, it would have to be a modified 993RS or a 700bhp R33 GTR (dont like the 34's )

JR doubting me! Fair play! I'm on 360mm discs rather 380, as you're right "he no fit". The 360's are tight as a ducks bum though, which is always nice! I'm on standard rims though, as I love them to bits.

I think one of the skylines biggest problems - along with the RS4 is it's weight.

Arguably the 'best' GTR is the R32 GTR as this is the lightest with the RB26DETT engine still easily capable of 7-800bhp from what I've heard/read that this is the optimum for proper track use.

Most of the big bhp boys seem to favour the 1/4 mile, I much prefer corners though

I've not had the guts to take our R33 GTSt out on the track yet
but the aim is to give it a proper thrashing some time in the summer.

Totally agree Simon but those Nizmo 400R's based on the R33 are surely the nicest looking Skyline ever built (still a bit heavy though )
