Tyre load rating for an RS6

Post by coco73 » Mon Sep 12, 2011 1:19 pm

Hello All,

Just picked up my RS6 Avant (swapped my Nissan GTR against it at Middlehurst's in St Helens)

It's been supplied with 4 "ACCELERA PHI 2" tyres (brand new) which I am going to throw away!

just wondered if someone could confirm what the correct size, load and speed rating should be for the stock 20" wheels?

Thanks,

Nick (aka Coco!)

Stock 20" rim takes 275/35/ZR20 102Y XL

Just out of interest, what made you change from the GTR to the '6?
Usually its the other way round!

Gosh those tyres are seriously budget! I saw that silver RS6 at Middlehurst, was a reasonable price for a garage!

Never even heard of those tyres!!

Is anyone considering winter tyres this year or are people happy enough with how the RS6 performs in any snow and ice (if we have any) on the standard tyres?

Don't sell them... Best opportunity ever to burn rubber :FIREdevil:
Daytona RS6 C5 Avant. Viper'd, Billies, Waggers, MTM box brain, C6 stoppers, xcarlink, R8 coolant cap (woohoo)
///M3 E46 | XC90 (V8, natch) | Passat GTE | RR Classic V8 flapper

defiantly Winter Tyres - Folks who went winter tyres last year said the car is great without, however with them its awesome

if your considering it .. buy now .. come first frost all winter tyres in Europe disappear

Why would the c6 be <beep> compared to the c5 in the snow? Similar tyres? 4wd? Or am I missing something?

On Pirelli SottoZero's its amazing. I did a very cold trip to Switzerland last year, not a twitch even at -19 on dryish roads and -7 on snow and ice covered rds. Intersting I saw almost the Mirror image of my car near Lewes the other day and he was already on SottoZero's, very smart I think. I will be swicthing mine out in October.

All reports I have read say the Dunlop Winter 3d tread is very very god, other than that the P SZeros or Contis are great.

I think the added weight and wider tyres ..

The c5 was very good in the snow ..

I ended up using my VW T4 with winter tyres on the front .. It was better than the c6
