Fuel Consumpsion

Hi there,

Just a bit curious, I am wondering what most people get on normal town driving on a full tank? I know it depends how you drive etc but on average. Mine had an issue after a fuel pump was replaced by audi and it started doing about 150 miles on a tank. Took it to Doug and they found a vacuum leak and I have driven it as economical as possible on this tank and its at 1/4 tank with about 150 miles so I think it will get to about 200... but this is driving like miss daisy, I remember getting around 250+ driving a mix of town and motorway on an energetic driving style....or am I going insane remembering it did that kind of mileage?? I am normally away 6-7 months a year so havent driven it in a while but kept thinking it was doing roughly that amount...Im on stage II MRC btw

Somewhere around the 250 mark sounds about right, as the average on mine usually settles around the 18-19mpg mark, and I don't usually drive like Miss Daisy either.

Since you mention not driving it, I did see you car for the first time in a while the other night when I was heading back over the bridge.

Hi there.. thanks for that, thats what I was thinking but thought I had lost the plot mine has just hit the orange light and it has done 210 miles or driving very economically so I think I will definitely have to have it checked again...now that I am not driving so much you really do appreciate the beauty of these cars, truly awesome.... will defo have to come to one of the meets to see some of the locals

Never get over 19mpg Failing temp sender has an affect on fuel consumption as I recall..........

Yeah might have to get it back to MRC. I'm at 1/4 tank remaining right now and have done 130 miles of mellow town driving. So that I reckon it's at about 10mph
