Re: Ring insurance
I had a look last year when I took me diesel A4, to be honest I thought they were all a bit of a con. Most had massive a excess - if you had an accident it would probs be cheaper without the insurance!! Plus if you know you aren't insured you will be a bit more sensible, I know I was.

Re: Ring insurance
What's the latest situation with insurance?
"Plus if you know you aren't insured you will be a bit more sensible, I know I was."
That's the same as driving on UK roads with no insurance. You could be nicked by the Police or worse case lose everything you have by being sued by an affected 3rd party.
I know there was talk that EU insurers are not allowed to remove 3rd party cover and hence you have legal cover. I also think many them protected themselves from payouts by sticking an exclusion in the T & C's and they can claim back from you any thing they had to payout.
Anyway it was something like that and not at all clear cut.
IMO you really need to know your legal position before you go regardless of if you then decide to do something about it or not.

Re: Ring insurance
your insurance will legally cover you
but then will seek to reclaim costs from you
so, example ... you cause £1m of costs (kill 100 people in a mass suidcide RS 4 oversteer)
your insurance pay out £1m
then come after you for £1m
If all you own is a £20k RS 4, then they take your car and you pay £1 a week for the rest of your life

RS4 oversteer would be worth 1,000,000 style points.
No matter where you go, there you are.
Re: Ring insurance
hows Darth getting on Bam ?
Re: Ring insurance
Darth is still as is for the moment, after a cosy long stay at Heathrow airport. I just couldn't sort out this WD issue before going on holidays so I parked up at the airport, smart choice it seems. Just got back so I'll try to get everything sorted again as I can now give it 100% attention.
I see you've ordered another B8 S4, you should've checked the sports diff to the option list, Evo raved about it.
