i suggest anyone buying it should be made aware of just how much it went for at auction, and how much money time and effort from one very dedicated member, personally i think it should be boycotted
Cheers

Right, I'm going to stick my neck out here.

If you were shopping for an RS4 and intended to mod it would you seriously boycott this one ?

It is simply business. This trader had the opportunity to buy the car at a very good price, just as any one else at that auction would have. I doubt they know the circumstances under which it was sold, and merely saw the opportunity to make a good profit by buying the car well below its true market value. Ask yourself this - ifyou were at the auction would you have broughtit at that price ?
And if you did how many of you would have then been tempted to unload itto make a bit of money...

I doubt very much us lot on here boycotting the dealer will make the slightest bit of difference, as they would simply drop the price a bit and still sell it at a good margin.
I also expect that Andiroo would rather someone he knew on here got to enjoy his efforts rather than someone he doesn't know. I would think the sale was a matter of urgency, and fast sales always come at a cost.

Just my opinions. Some of you are in businessfor yourselves, so should surely see it is that, just business. Not personal.

Cheers,
John.

I think someone on Scoobynet was also enquiring about Noggy Babe at a dealer and Jeff W pointed them in this direction.

What is the story here lads?
Remember Andiroo from 4.org days.

It is very difficult to balance this out. I used to get very emotional about cars, as many of you know, but now days, I realise they are just a phyisical thing, and people will always try and trade them for their face value regardless of cost. If this car was purchased for £20k and they are selling it for £35k, that is not cricket, and with all the mods the car must be worth more than that. Everybody likes to buy a bargin, but I fear there is more to this story than I know. :(

Simple,

I'm sure someone will fill you in on the detailos via a PM.
As you can see it appears to be a bit of a touchy subject.
Agreed it should be worth a lot more than that, but highly
mod'd cars don't seem to sell as well as untouched ones.

Try doing a search of the posts for 'noggy babe' and see
what you can find.
Assuming the archive search works for v1 posts

Btw, I should have added I wasn't trying to wind people up, just put across a different perspective.
I should also point out I am not a car sales man :)

I can understand this view Phil however I would be happier someone from this forum bought it rather than someone who knows nothing about Audi's.

Regarding some of the other comments on this thread I don't think it is necessary to go into any detail PM or otherwise - the facts are that Andy spent a lot of time and effort modding the car to bring it up to the level of performance he wanted. Now it's in a dealership - the proprieter is attempting to make a killing but that's the business he's in.

All I'd say is that any buyer will have to understand the issues involved in maintianing what is a very highly modded RS4

From what I can gather the mapping hadn't been sorted yet either, so Joshies right. It's not a car for a virgin RS owner.

It was running OK at Oulton Park (although I understand that this might not of been the case at previous RS246 events ????) on a 550bhp map, but I think Andy was working on a 600bhp map for race fuel + then there is the fact that it's plumbed for NOS too IIRC.

Not a car for the faint-hearted, and I'm talking about upkeep/repair costs not performance - very little hasn't been upgraded on the car, so don't expect to be able to take it to Audi for a check-over - they really won't have a clue.
