Insurance with mods

Post by SevenoaksS4 » Thu Jul 28, 2011 9:48 am

Would like to fit a Milltek exhaust, Hotchkis ARBs and possibly an AmD remap to my S4 but not sure of the insurance implications. Current policy is £477, and the cheapest I have found with these mods declared is £200 more. I assume that people are always up front on here about telling their insurers of such mods?

My remap and air filter added just £12 to my premium with Admiral. Alot depends on how much power increases from OEM after the mods.

My premium dropped when i did the mods and changed company - plus Churchill were increasing premiums on me.

Have you tried Adrien Flux or Sky - they have modded insurance programs that cover the mods at replacement cost. Problem with a lot of standard carriers is they dont cover the replacement cost of any mods, plus alot will just put your premium through the roof, if they cover you at all.

Check what cover it is as well.

They bump up the cost for mods but will they replace like for like, or just OE parts
