FS 2001 Y reg B5 RS4 Avant with 84k miles

Post by mad-for-tar » Wed Jun 08, 2011 10:14 pm

Have posted up over on SRS forum so text is basically the same as that but putting on here as I don't come in here too often.

Right,

After 2 years of a love hate relationship with the car, the time has come to pass it on to a new owner.

Need to try put some money aside for a potential house purchase and other reasons so have to free up the cash to do so. Looking to go back to an oil burner again and actually found my previous car for sale tonight and looking to buy it back.

Brief run down with some pics but will put up fresh pics over the weekend.

Registered on 03/07/01, was supplied by a German dealer and first registered in UK.

84,000 miles with dealer service history up to 61k miles, 2 independents after that.

Service is due soon but will carry out myself before being sold.

Fresh MOT will be put on the car (due before 25th June)

Have carried out alot of work to it myself since I bought it including a change of camshafts at 69k miles. Lots of parts replaced as preventative maintenance, plenty or receipts for everything.

Usual spec including extras of sunroof and satellite navigation and curtain airbags.

Regularly checked with VCDS for faults and anything wrong has been rectified.

New DIS fitted recently.

Car is standard, not remapped but precats have been gutted and a Scorpion stainless cat back exhaust has been fitted.

Cambelt has been done every 30k miles so not due again until 90k.

New brakes went in all round last year including a 6 pot upgrade up front on modified standard RS4 discs, with 5.1 fluid.

Parrot CK3100 bluetooth handsfree kit.

No nasty noises or rattles or squeaks from drivetrain components, it is still a tight car for the mileage.

5 owners in total including myself with documentation to support the lot.

HPI clear, no surprises to uncover.

Car is in daily use so mileage increasing (I do about 150 miles a week commuting only).

2 keys and log book with all original documents.

4 hard type alloys (have a soft one without tyre which I will let go with the car if required for a spare)

Only bad points are lower front grille on LH side is damaged (a pigeon didnt get off the ground qick enough as I approached it). Couple of stonechips here and there, not unusual of what you would find on a 10 year old car. I have a chip repair kit which I will give to the new buyer.

Almost too many small points to list, only thing to do is come and have a look and see for yourself.

Quick sale would be preferable. Usual guff applies of no test pilots etc etc.

Looking for £11.5k ovno, open to negotiation.

Will be going on PH and AT at the weekend.

Any comments or questions call me on 07890 126077 or drop me a PM here.

Thanks!

OK, so an update, will add a list of more or less what I have done to the car since I got it....and a few more pics taken yesterday after a good clean out.

~both upstream Lambda sensors on both banks.
~Aero wipers all round
~MAF sensor
~N75 valve
~After-run switch
~710N DV's
~4 camshafts and all seals and rocker cover gaskets.
~fuel filter
~LH rear diff seal
~water pump and thermostat (belt was also replaced on its own as a hole was found in it at time of changing cams, 9k miles after dealer change)
~spark plugs
~air filter
~6 pot calipers fitted with braided hoses and Dot 5.1 fluid change.
~power steering fluid change
~RH front gearbox seal replaced
~gearbag and diff oils changed (Redline MT-90 in the box and 75W-90 in diff)
~gutted pre-cats and fitted Scorpion stainless cat back.
~new battery
~new Bosch alternator

There are probably other things there changed I forgot to include. Car running really well at the moment and it's been a tough decision to make to sell it or not but it has to go. New owner will not be disappointed and I think it is good value for money for the condition its in and work done to it so far.

Has a DVD player fitted which I will leave go with the car. 4 brand new Vredestein Ultracs fitted just before Christmas and have covered about 4-5k miles so far. Great rubber IMO. Bonnet switch was replaced also as it was setting off the alarm.

Rear wiper washer jet was replaced for the well known problem of water in the motor. At the same time, changed the park position from LHS to RHS to match the profile of the Aero arm. LED sidelight and number plate light bulbs fitted also to complement the Avus Silver and Xenon headlights.

Also has a plastic bootliner which came with the car when I bought it so good for transporting bits and pieces without damaging ther floor carpet. Sat Nav has 2009/2010 discs and a second disc for European main roads.

Will come with a fresh MOT and tax is out end of July. I hope it wont hang around long at this spec and price....enjoy the pics.

Just a note also from first batch of pics, brake pad wear warning is now eliminated, found a broken wire on one of the front pad sensors so all is cleared now.

Thanks for looking!

Tom

Just been serviced today by myself using all genuine Audi parts and a fresh fill of Quantum Platinum 5W-40 engine oil. Given it a once over and all is good to go now. Spark plugs not due yet (changed them a few months ago for Bosch F5DP0R's). Free bump for the ad anyway.

Will be MOT'd next week so will have fresh 12 months MOT on it.

Right....weekend bump with the added bonus of a price drop.

Now sitting at £11,000 or nearest offer, will do a bit extra for a forum member or somebody recommended by a forum member :)
