Break In

Post by skaranv » Sat Jun 25, 2011 5:14 pm

Some scumbag keeps entering my RS4 in the middle of the night... Not sure what he/they are looking for but am getting concerned that they are scoping to nick it. It is really peeving me off. The first time I realised, they must have bypassed the central locking. Following morning both front and back driver side doors were left ajar and sunglasses nicked. The second time had police alert me at 3 in the morning: alarm going off, f/driver side window smashed... And here was the weirdest thing... rear view mirror pulled out from socket, left in seat well and wiring in roof pulled out and tampered with... Is it possible that you can hot wire the car this way?! Police have no clue, and Audi claim they are waiting for better technology to be developed to limit central locking breaches... Useless. Then made me think that actually the first was not the first as a few months earlier my rear view mirror mysteriously came away in my hand when I was trying to adjust it...

Fellow RS owners... Can anyone provide an explanation? Is there anyway for me to reset my remote locking sequencing... Any other security tips.... Thank you.

Not sure as to why they are doing that, but I suggest installing a good cctv system at your home with hard drive recording and date and time stamp, you could install one yourself for less than £250 and with my system i can even watch the cameras from my iphone anywhere in the world.

sure thats not your missis or an ex missis trying to get you back for something, you been a bad lad and the missis has found outbut not letting you know, but knows that you can be hurt by messing with the car and your head. or there is maybe an rs4 ghost that rather that you had a M3 :FIREdevil:

CCTV is a good idea, Dunk... What system / hardware / app do you use...? :beerchug:

Def not the mrs/ex... Although the way I am feeling right now an M3 does not sound like a bad idea (blasphemous / shock horror, I know). :audibash:

Further ideas welcome...

I use the Securix SML4 Kit http://www.mysecurix.com/Front/product/product3.html

Brought mine from Maplins about 3 months ago http://www.maplin.co.uk

Use a free app from the Apple app store called Securix, full motion sensors sms alerts for movements from cameras, hard drive recording with date and time stamp and the ability to view from iphone/ipad all 4 cameras anywhere you wish in the world, took me about 3 hrs to install fully (never done it before) everything including cables included in pack

Hope you get to the bottom of the issue
