Probs Starting

Help pls,

My car hassles me to start after leavign it for two or three days. Its doesnt seem to be battery related as the lights dont dim when i turn the key or anythign liek that, its just ZERO turnover. If i hold the key open for like 10-15 secs, she fires and works fine there after and once warm

Any suggestions?

I have the same problem (occasionally happens when the car's been sitting for 40+ hours).

Sometimes it starts after a few seconds, other times it takes a couple of minutes of trying before it starts.

It's happened 4 or 5 times in the year and a half I've had it.

On other forums I've heard the suggestion of the starter solenoid.

sounds cheap...awesome!!!!! love my V8 but think the RS3 may just be calling me when they land in South Africa in Sept. Cant hurt to save on fuel too and at 2000m above sea level a turbo will help deal a swift blow to the flipping M3/ST/ Golf R brigade

Yeah, I've heard the starters are a fairly common failure on these cars

Had the same problem. Starter changed and never happened again. I would say its almost certianly the starter. Costs me £330 including the starter to get it changed.
