MK Meet - Weds 6th July

Post by Ian_C » Fri Jun 24, 2011 9:45 am

Wednesday 6th July, 7:30pm at the Caldecotte Arms, Milton Keynes.

Any automotive enthusiast welcome. Potential MK meet newbies please post below so we can look out and welcome you! Usual suspects please post your attendance. This will be our ‘midsummer’ meet with the longest daylight, and if the weathers good we could eat (usually about 9pm ish) outside overlooking the lake.

Last month was undoubtedly a record in recent years - 433 thread views on home forum Tyresmoke, 6 new faces to the meet, 3 of which were via RS246. As mentioned, it was good to have some V8 company. After posting this on RS246 last month for the first time, this month I'll open it to spin-off forum Audi SRS also. A bit of background info - the meet has been running for 7.5 years now, hosted by Audi forum Tyresmoke.net (aka TSN, nee Audi Sport, nee S3 forum). A few years back it was run alongside a SEAT club night, and recently Edition 38 / Ultra VW or similar are also there the same night. The vast majority of [our] attendees drive Audis, although some have other cars / 'summer' toys as well - Techies loony supercharged VX220 last month for example.

For any newcomers (or forgetful old timers) the Caldecotte Arms pub is by the junction of the A5 and the A4146 right next to the oddly shaped - and now smoothly resurfaced - roundabout under the A5 (great for testing your Milltek). Coming off the dual carriageway, drive down as far as the pub and then turn left towards the outside 'arc' of the car park - the top tier so to speak. Look for the Windmill!

As you are considering changing to an Avant, I'm sure Mo will let you have a look in his 2004 RS6 Avant Plus in Sprint Blue.

Belated update:

Good turn out of 11 people including a pair of budding Audi drivers to be - another ten years before the boys can get behind the wheel! Purely VAG machinery this month. Was debating bringing a French hot hatch along in August, but I shall refrain having opened this meet to RS246 and SRS! Mo beat the MK record for "dirtiest alloys"!! Good food once more, shame it was a bit breezy and not warm enough to sit outside. Pic courtesy of Nik.

See you all next month!

You dime bar!! Should have given me a shout - think I sent you a pm with my number last month? Nevermind - see you in August! Cannot make Ace Cafe as I'll be in Shropshire, so MK only for me next month.

Parked in pic in the order we arrived - the A2 twins were first there, followed by Richard, followed by me approx 7:40 ish with an Avant full of Le Mans kit including freezer and generator! (hence tailgate open and seats down in the pic).

sounds good mate, will make it down to the next one.

I have seen that noggy RS6 up at the Xcape loads over the years, always looks stunning - be good to see it in the flesh.
