Europe Roadtrip - Pics and info

Post by homerjunior » Mon Jun 13, 2011 5:09 pm

Hey all,

So after a manic 9 days driving round Europe and over 2700 miles travelling through France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Monaco, Switzerland and Italy I thought I would post up a few pics!

Driving some of the most fun roads in the world was definitely an experience (Col De Turinin, San Bernardino Pass, Stelvio Pass and an infamous road outside of Davos) and the RS4 was an amazing car to do it in. To be fair it was raining every time I drove these roads (hence the dark pictures) but was fun nevertheless! Got the hood down too so got a bit of a tan on my arms while enjoying the wind through my hair ( well what is left of it..................)

Here is a plan of the trip:

For those of you thinking about it I would definitely say do it. You won't regret it. Be warned we spent over £1000 in fuel though. Definitely worth it though.

Enjoy!!!!! :thumb:

Was truly memorable. I had some funny moments though. I remember coming down Col de Turini and there was a Renault Belingo and it was right up my chuff. Couldn't shake it for love nor money. Shows what a local who knows the road and a rubbish driver like me are capable of! :)

Have to say I felt really sorry for the bikers who were out doing it as well as they must have been soaked to the skin. At least I have the choice to have the wind in my hair or not! :D

Renault Berlingo, lol, i bet he would upset a few drivers as like you say, knows the roads well. Are these roads busy at all with tourists and commuters??

So pretty much every road except Col de Turini had a fair few people. I remember hooning up San Bernardino Pass round a corner almost into a bus! :)

On the road outside Davos there was a Porsche and a Scoob racing each other and they were really going for it!

I did Stelvio Pass first thing in the morning and that was really quiet too. I think I was unlucky with San Bernadino as I think it was a bank holiday the day before and we were coming back from Italy with all the other people coming back from their weekend at the lakes.

To be honest there are enough kms on the journey that it doesn't really make a difference and the RS4 is an awesome car to do a few choice overtakes in too. ;)
