Milltek Fitted!

Post by edge » Wed Jun 01, 2011 1:08 pm

Just back from getting the non-res valved cat-back fitted!

:jump:

I love it!

I read a few posts about the booming at low revs, but I even love that! Had it on the motorway coming back and windows down the rasps at high revs are music to my ears. My last car was loud and I kinda missed that rasp from a non OEM exhaust, well im WELL HAPPY!

Plus, was informed after a few miles it would get louder...... sweet!

What I love about milltek is that you get that V8 burble up to 3k rpm and then a noise ever approaching a Lamborghini sound all the way to the redline.

I thake you have been through the port tunnel at least once with all of the windows down :rocker: .

Was sitting at the lights yesterday and a lad, recon 30's, was walking across the road right behind the car, light went green and may have reved a LITTLE higher than normal taking off  ... he jumped and ran to the the curb.... ah the fun!

Had my non-res valved on for 200 miles now. Love the sound.

Its different to what i expected, but that was mostly going on vidoes off the net and 1 track day at castle combe.

I wasnt sure if the rasp at higher revs ( ~4500 under power) was normal at first and was worried it was a bad joint. But it appears it is a characteristic of the non-res milltek ?

The booming at lower revs 1200 - 2000rpm was the bit that took some getting used too, it changes your driving style a bit, and i think for the better. After a week i love the sound, and im sure the car has adapted to be more responsive.

I love doing low power starts, using the rev range in low gears - slowly. The noise it make in a built up town area is mad, so many guys (and girls) gawping, trying to make out what's making that supercar sound...... Its an effortless sound of power, one that makes people look, not because your trying to make an impression, but because if the nature of the sound.
