Back and WOW.... love it.... going to start another thread
JackS4.... the boys are going to store the OEM one for the moment. Assumed it would come out in more than one part!

Re: Problem with DRC and Steering - help!
Another problem with the RS, Friday I noticed some oil on the ground, underneath the front of the car, I brought the car to Audi sandyford (where it had the full service only last month) this morning for a quick check, verdict: the 2 oil pipes that run from the motor towards the front of the car are ao badly corroded they are leaking oil. Not much at the moment, as I checked the oil level each morning since Friday, but they obviously must be changed.
Anyone had the same problem?

Re: Problem with DRC and Steering - help!
Not an uncommon issue that a few on here have had. There was a recall of sorts when that German tech was over last year where they tied the pipes away from one another as one of the causes of failure was the pipes rubbing together. Might be worth checking if they did this and if not why not. Far as I know replacement is not covered under warranty and expensive enough to put right as they don't/can't just change the pipes.

Re: Problem with DRC and Steering - help!
This is correct, there was a recall for a plastic clip that kept the two pipes away from each other. Audi Sandyford did mine under the recall and they actually mentioned it to me at the tech review.JackS4 wrote:Not an uncommon issue that a few on here have had. I am surprised that they had the car and didnt complete the recall.... or are we supposed to inform them of this prior to dropping the car in?
Re: Problem with DRC and Steering - help!
Thanks lads, I have left the car there and they will let me know what the story is re: warranty

Re: Problem with DRC and Steering - help!
Ok, got my answer, no warranty but a lot of goodwill which will bring the bill down to 300 euros (down from 880) I don't know if I should be happy or not, you'd think Quattro gmbh would make these pipes resistant to feckin' rust... Considering that we probably have half of the salt on our roads than they would have in Germany in the winter...
anyway, I suppose every car has its problem... hope my serie of bad luck will end after that, I'll be broke pretty soon otherwise..
PS: Since they will have the car for a couple of days I have asked them to refurbish my two front wheels, at least some money spent that I can actually see

Re: Problem with DRC and Steering - help!
Good job getting some contribution out of them.
Make sure they properly match the wheel colour (there is a paint code on here somewhere). I saw one car up there before that had less than matching colour and finish (sort of matt looking).

Re: Problem with DRC and Steering - help!
Was the lack of the recall part the issue?
They did, well the company they use, does a great job with the alloys. I had no issue with the colour..... but it can happen
