I'm still reserving judgement until you can test the ECU again, it's just strange something works for years and then throws a checksum error without any solid state memory being damaged. Hope for you it'll be fine now though!!

yes i know, Rich told me he had seen this error twice before. one of them the error appeared again...
We will see, im planning a long trip this weekend (300 miles) but i think we should take the Punto of my wife instead of the prob error appearing again on the rs6 and maybe even stops the car from running....

Could be that some flash memory was corrupted. Power surge or spike possibly. Rewriting the memory address could fix the problem in this case and if there is no physical damage.

I wonder it ABT use some part of the flash memory that is prone to corruption...

Rich couldnt see which tuner it remapped, but could see it was a bad one...
So im glad its back to stock (thats what Rich said, maybe he already did some tweaking... :biggrin3: )
and know when it gets a remap i know who did it and what. Thats also the case with the TCU, it was already chipped but unsure what it did and by whom it was installed...now i now it is Viperized :biggrin3:
Thanks Rich

What is viper tune? Is it a person or a company or what? The americans seem to talk about him / it / them too, so what's the deal?

Yeap, it's a company/person. The very same that mapped Panda's lipstick rocket.

I drove the car today after reinstalling the EC/TCU and the gearchanges are much smoother and less slipping :biggrin3:
Rich also said i should notice increase in power because of the bad remap being removed (back to stock for now, but for how long? planning a remap from Rich too), but because i havent driven to car for about 3 weeks (ive driven a 60 hp punto, so everything is quick compared to that) so it was hard to notice, although the acceleration was mindblowing...couldnt follow the speedo... :jump: so Rich is right :beerchug:
No more errors. But there is a possibility it can show up again Rich said, so fingers crossed. So far its amazing.

Thanks Rich
