Pressure washer on a soft-top?

Post by VociferousBob » Tue May 17, 2011 2:34 pm

There's a useful and cheap hand car wash place just up the road from me which I used in my old T5 convertible. Although they never actively cleaned the roof, they did rinse away stray suds using their water jets.

I've now got my long sought after S4 cab, and the manual says in bold that I must not use high-pressure water jets on the roof.

Is this just a cover-your-ass paragraph in case people are tempted to use one up-close to clean off some bird poo, or am I now forced to clean my own car?

If you get a pressure washer yourself just make sure it has an adjustable lance that will lower the pressure. If you are going to take it to a car wash, STOP BEING A LAZY ARSE AND DO IT YOURSELF!!!
