Re: 2001 (Y) Imola Yellow RS4
I bought my car last year from Tom . FWIW I think he's a genuine guy and I would certainly buy from German Margques again.
Gone to the dark side

Mmmm so Imola still available!
Re: 2001 (Y) Imola Yellow RS4
I've known Tom since our corrado days in the early 2000's and he's alway seemed to be driven by his heart and passion in all his endeavors and never a money man. Reading his posts on this thread, he being totally genuine which probably isn't the done thing when your flogging cars!

All I would say golf is that the motor trade is not a bed of roses and we do sometimes "take a bath" on the odd car - sometimes we get it right but it's few and far between where we make a fortune.golfather wrote:Oops, obviously touched a raw nerve...Tomson wrote:Golfather, I must say I am fairly insulted by what your suggesting, basically your saying I am full of <beep>, and that the 'public tears' as you call them, are just for effect?golfather wrote:I'm sure Tomson made a fair bit on this sale, regardless of the public tears![]()
How much do you think we have in a car like this? It was advertised on this forum by the previous owner for £15750.00 which i thought at that time was fairly priced.
The B5 RS4 market has taken a real hit this year and all prices have been punished. Trust me at £13800.00, I am not even close to making a profit - but sometimes it is better to get rid and move on. A car stuck in stock for 90+ days is no good what so ever. Saying that, I have had a discussion with the winning bidder and we have agreed not to complete the eBay sale.![]()
.
Let's put it this way...
Tesco looked at entering car sales a while ago, and their accountants said something like...
"Wait - you're telling me you invest this much cash, you turn over this much money, and you only net THAT much profit? Why would you do it!!?!" ( I know they're now looking at re-marketing ex lease cars).
Good on you Thomson there's a customer for that car - I would suggest add standard / refurbish to standard colour alloys to it, and it will become more in tune with the enthusiast liking the OEM look. I would buy it if I didn't need more space.
An aftermarket RNS-D Nav would make it more desirable too?
