Milltek - what to do with exhaust flap line
Milltek - what to do with exhaust flap line
Was having a look under the car in preperation for fitting the Milltek exhaust and never even realised the S4 has the exhaust flap. Is there a procedure to follow with the flap vacum system plugging when fitting aftermarket exhausts?

yeah, there is a guide on here somewhere (search), I did it but dont think it does much, flaps get stuck so you will need a long screwdriver, WD40 and a hammer!
I ended up getting a full non-res miltek with full decatted racing downpipes instead

Re: Milltek - what to do with exhaust flap line
Im away to fit a Milltek so need to disconnect / reroute the vacum lines, I did a search but nothing came up.
Im not bothered about anything to do with it on the standard system.

As you're going aftermarket, it doesn't really matter what you do with it I don't think. I've seen some people have plugged the pipe with an appropriately sized screw, and cable tie it out of the way somewhere.

sorry, I slightly misread what you were asking. the fitters should sort out what to do with them, I know MRC did with mine

Graeme,
Not sure if the S4 has an air box flap as well like the RS4;
If not and the vacuum pipes only run to the exhaust and nothing else, you can either leave it or shove a bolt down it to plug it and prevent the system from sucking up dust and crap from the road.
If the vacuum system is shared with another air-controlled system on the car, you will need to plug so the other system still operates.
I'd be tempted to plug regardless.
Do a search on the B7 RS4 forum for more info.
