Good for you, who is organising the track day?, we all have to start somewhere. Have fun, when you start to get confident its time to go back to the pits. :thumb:

Oulton is a great track and very technical but like many older tracks, run off can be non existant so build speed gradually.
the hardest part I've found is the later third of the track. I can't recall the names of the corners but theres a 90 right after the chicance and then a fastish left... Thats fine but the next bit I've always found tricky as the right hander heading under the bridge looks a lot faster than it is.
Oulton does flatter lighter cars so expect to have a lot of little cars catching you up in the corners - there's not enough fast straights to really make the power count. Although you gotta give it the beans past the pits :) (just remember the right hander after!)

Not that many C5 RS6's would be stock so at a minimum you were probably whooped by a 500bhp motor.

If an Avant it could have been a Plus which was 480 stock & being Turbo most WILL put out their claimed power. Remember mine fondly, was a Sportec/AmD Stage 3 with over 560bhp & 564lbsft & that in a straight line back then was pretty much un catchable:)

If the extent of your driving skills stops at straight lines then yes

Chuck in some country roads and the B7 will deliver a dust sandwich

I am there on on 6 May for some drifting - not in the RS though.

I do like Oulton as a track, live Donington its 3 dimensional rather than a boring ex-airfield like Snetterton or Silverstone. :bigblink:

is that Druids or Lodge you're referring to? Druids is a tricky one but it quite fast (double apex - ignore the first one) and Lodge is tighter than you think but important to get right as you've then got the drag uphill to the finish line.

Money can't buy you love, but it can buy you a well sorted racecar
