On the day I had the cats fitted one of the B5 owners that had heard it testing at MRC before I arrived reckoned it sounded like a Lamborghini. It just sounds ferral, also throttle blipped downshifts give a Group B rally car style bang out of the exhaust which is always useful for emptying trees of birds or indeed having lots of people jump/crouch in more urban settings.

couple of questions,

will removing the pre cats pass an MOT?

i was going to remove pre cats and replace the centre pipes with X pipe, see how it sounds then later change the rear boxes

if doing the above and remove pre cats and change to 100-200 cell cat would this pass MOT

what would be the ideal pipe size? same as stock, i have seen the supersprint one in production on another forum and they drop down in pipe size then go back up.

I wil stil have good back pressure and majority of power gains come from removing the restrictive precats rather than from reducing the 400cell to 200 or 100...........I think...
Are you having this done?
Sorry sonny, where it reads " i wil stil have good back pressure" etc, it should read " IT should have...". So, no im not having it done but just sharing some of the knowledge gained from this forum
