Transporting a bike in/on RS4?

Post by Lewy1000 » Mon Mar 28, 2011 5:16 pm

Hey,

Is anyone on here cyclists and have experience of using the RS4 to transport your bikes? Im looking to get a road bike which will have quick release wheels and wondering what my chances are of getting this in the boot of a saloon (ideally keeping the back seats down).

I want to avoid any racks on the back due to risk of damage to the body work, not keen on roof mounted rack for the same reason. Dont want to make a habit of using the RS4 for this but just seeing how feasible it is..

Cheers

I have a Marin Pallisades Trail and I could get it into my S4 saloon boot with seat left up and wheels off but it was a bit of a hassle maneouvring through the boot hatch opening. The Avant is so much easier, I can sit the bike on its seta and handle bars with the wheels next to it and still have luggage space with seats up (although load hatch cover won't go across then.
