Still, it does seem like the forum offer is no longer valid?

I plugged the 246 voucher code in and it's no longer recognised. Ill send 'em an email to see what's going on.

Response from MyCarMats below:

Hi,

Unfortunately not, as we have reduced our prices across all products, and can no longer offer an additional discount.

A few forum members have asked for mats with logos on them. Are you aware that we do not offer these? The mats you receive will not feature any logos.

Also, we only ship to UK addresses now, due to a large proportion of parcels going missing.

Kind regards

Is it absolutely impossible to find tailored car mats with RS4 logo somewhere? Does anyone know?

My Car Mats doesn't even bother to answer my e-mail inquiry.

I rang mycarmats up and they kindly explained why they can't do logo mats anymore. I havnt got round to doing it myself, but intend to go on eBay and search for rs4 logo mats on there; I'm sure plenty of suppliers will come up.

This does happen.......I know the VW, Audi group are rather hot on this at the moment. I would expect the "RS4" logo to be a protected IP.

I have heard of independent VW garages being advised to remove trade mark logos from websites or threat litigation.

Even moreso when they don't make the car mats we want anymore and we can't get them from aftermarket suppliers; where is the logic in that?

That's more or less what they said lol. Audi was on their case

The difficulty is Audi I suspect own the IP for the RS4 logo as it does with the Audi 4 rings, quattro, etc etc.

So if "replica" products appear in the market place the IP owner Audi have the right to claim damages.

For years Audi has turned a blind eye to the odd Audi Sport sweat shirt, key rings etc. So I think its just clamping down on this activity.

Personally I think they are correct to do this.

The theory is sound Philip, just the practice is that the customer loses out because they aren't prepared to do a product for us and won't let anyone else.

I 100% disagree.

Audi no longer sell RS4 logo'd mats - so at the very least they should grant licences (at a SENSIBLE rate) to third parties to manufacture them.

Who should they choose? - manufacturers that us, the RS4 owners, recommend.

That will protect the brand AND keep owners happy - a classic win-win situation.

I don't see why MyCarMats or anyone else should profit from a brand they don't own even if it is at the expense of us the final user. There would he no business landscape if it was that easy

Licensing is a major piece of the product landscape.
