Is AA warranty any good ?
Is AA warranty any good ?
I'm still looking for alternatives to the Audi extended warranty. The AA offer a policy for £430 p.a. The terms and conditions seem ok. Limit is £5k per claim upto the value of the car for the warranty term. Mileage is unlimited.
Can anyone offer any comments/advice on this one?
Thanks

My Audi Dealer suggested I did not renew my Audi warranty, and opt for the RAC one instead. Briefly looked at it - it seemed comprehensive. I did not go for because I had on-going problems with my car and did not wish to fall between two stools. However, I will do so next time around.
Re: Is AA warranty any good ?
I just checked with the dealer who supplied my RS4 one last Dec and the price has changed due to new engine size banding it seems.
What was a steal at £540 now is more like £860 or so.
Hope it helps people decide.
Robert.
ps - Pradip, do you use Aylesbury for you servicing?

I have used Executive Audi at St Albans for the past 6 years - absolutely wonderful service.

Re: Is AA warranty any good ?
I got a warranty for the S4 though warranty wise. 350 for
a year including main dealer servicing rates (still only
covers upto about 65 an hour) and wear and tear with a
6k claim limit (unlimited claims). Already claimed for a
MAF without any problems (so it's paid for itself already
nearly)
If you car has done less than 60000 miles you can get a
Total policy (mins premium) which covers just about
everything. This is through WHA who do a lot of the main
dealer schemes. This may be good or bad

WHA seem to be very good, almost too good - thanks very much

as mine runs out soon, it seems that the WHA scheme will be explored by myself also then - that looks to be excellent compared with £850 from the Audi stealers..
anyone else any experience/suggestions for this area?

Re: Is AA warranty any good ?
WHA are Warranty Holdings who have been discussed before both here and on scoobynet.
It's good news that you got the MAF sensor replaced. Mine was done under the Audi warranty at the last service and was costed at over £350.
Any comments re. AA Warranty ?

Re: Is AA warranty any good ?
the aa one seems awesome.
seems to cover everything, and for £500 is much cheaper than the Audi warranty.
looks like a no brainer to me

Re: Is AA warranty any good ?
I've just done a quote with the AA warranty online and for my car, a years AA warranty will cost me £247.00 vs £850 from Audi.
However the Audi warranty generally covers everything, whereas the AA warranty covers most mechanical stuff fine like the Audi one, but excludes in-car entertainment (my Sat Nav wouldn't be covered!), Trim/Upholstery etc
Not looked at the WHA one yet... but what a difference in price between the AA and Audi ones

It is my impression, and also supported by comments from Audi Dealers, that Audi is not interested in you once the car is 5 years old. Therefore they price 'their' warranties at levels that are unattractive.
BMW has a very different approach and tries to keep owners within it's fold by offering a warranty that is extremely comprehensive and sensibly priced. I pay £400 for my 1990 E30 M3, and that includes roadside assistance - and they have never quibbled any claim.
Re: Is AA warranty any good ?
You're definitely right about Audi not being interested in cars over 5 years. My friend has a 1998 Porsche 996 and the Porsche extended warranty for that is less than £1000 pa.
I've gone for the AA Warranty and have arranged the breakdown and recovery service with my insurance company.
