Hi El_RIngo,

Thanks for a vote of confidence there - i'm no specialist (or mechanic / engineer), more chemistry (oil industry) my thing, hence the nervous thought...!

I would have to say i'm an ethusiast (bad spelling...?)

TC being Torque Converter.....? (i guess)

Regards,

Richard

Mine does it vice versa, when cold no slip, when warm 100-200 rpm climb...
I hope ATF service will solve that...

I've had mine since May last year, had quite a lot of work done on it since (service, tyres, drc, discs, pads, engine mounting, mapping, some valve) and I am not planning to sell it for a very long time, all other things being equal obviously. I got the rear windows tinted last week and it looks even better.

2 friends of mine have had theirs from new and they're not intending to sell either.

It took us to Austria and back last month, and at 120-140mph you just hear that muted growl which seems to say "there is plenty more", with the car loaded with luggage, a wife and 2 kids. I did push it to 165mph for a few miles, and the kids did not even look up from their DVD players. Notwithstanding the fact that even with normal tyres, you're not going to get stuck in the snow.

Not many cars can do that.

The RS6 is a legend.

Not only do I intend to keep it forever, I also plan on finding it a little friend in the form of an RS2 :)

Deinately not considering selling either.

I'm only 3 months in, and I dont want to have to tell you how much money (vadalised grills, broken wing mirror in a car park, water pump and thermostat) but it comes with ther car.

I'd like to think that I gave some serious consideration to the running cost as well as the purchase price of the car, but I think that there some people that are picking up the cheaper cat d / high mileage ones without the finances to run them properly.

I'm in it for the long run, and I hope that the nice ones are kept by enthusiast.

Cheers

As opposed to what? Doing 150? 140? 130? 120? On my own? Just with my wife? Crossing the road?

Do you know where or how? Or even me? Or how I drive?

I also wonder to what sort of problem you're refering to? Running out of petrol very quickly indeed? A tyre blow-up? Some dozy driver who decides to overtake at the last minute? A traffic jam ahead?

Methinks you do not know much about any of those things, and a number does not mean much on its own.

Inappropriate is the concept you should look for.

LOL!

I've done 170 in an RS 6 in germany, and I would not say it was safe in any circumstances

But each to their own

I think I managed 100mph on the Autobahn in a 1.2 Opel hire car once but I had to turn the aircon off to get it the last few mph/kmh.
