Hey guys
Still pondering on my first upgrade. I live in Sydney and there are three main choices. Powerchip which does not include any hardware, just programming AU$2000, APR which has a chip and two programs adjusted through the Cruise Control stick AU$2500 and WTA chip which I know nothing about. Help please!!!

Re: WTA, APR OR POWERCHIP???????????
I was browsing (and never really check the S4 forums) and i saw the word Powerchip. What ever you or your dog does, DO NOT BUY POWERCHIP.
They are that bad, I won't even waste my breath telling you why they are bad.
APR, Giac, Oettinger, MTM, Revo are all good upgrades.
I'd pick APR because the support from Derek @ European Autotech in Mona Vale is top class every time, but then again im biased. The MTM dealer in Sydney is a bit of a wa|\|ker and overpriced (no DPP either), the Oettinger dealer is very knowledgeable but doesnt sell DPP (Cruisecontrol activated programs), the GIAC dont really have a agent in Sydney (he lives in Melb and just visits so theres not really support there either), same goes for Revo (GIAC & Revo Dealer are the same guy) but they do have Revo which is DPP.
So the choice is easy!
Go APR!!!
Tell Derek I sent you... If you want a demo of how the product works, you can come check out my car... We can race, and I can beat you
Do your own research is the best, plenty of information on the australian audi forum, www.ozaudi.com
Best of luck, and steer clear of Powerchip!

Re: WTA, APR OR POWERCHIP???????????
Thanks plenty guys,
S8n, I get the message, Say no to Powerchip. Thanks for the invite, I think APR it is, but man 2 1/2 ggs, is it worth it??? I'm no over the phone S4 buyer, this is the most expensive toy i've owned. But, I think I have a problem, I'm addicted and want more. By the way, at the risk of sounding like a complete tosser, I went to the new creek circuit out of curiosity and did two runs, very hot day (excuses!!!) and did a 14.4, what should I expect from an stage 1 APR????
Fred

Hey..
2500? thats cheap. Considering youll get around 30kw, you try and see how much money it will cost you to get 30kw from a NA engine, comparitively, its extremely cheap
14.4? thats about right for a std S4
I expect my car to do a bit quicker than 14.4, considering std s3's are doing 14.5 in low temps in the UK (standard 165kw S3's)
With your chip, you'd hope around 13.5? I honestly have no idea what you'd do..
I heard from a friend there was a S4 doing runs Looks like it was you hhehe
