Audi RS2 fuel pump removal help wanted

Post by super-g » Thu Mar 03, 2011 7:09 pm

Does any member have experience of removing the fuel pump from an Audi RS2. I have read on other forums to remove use a screw driver and hammer in the same way you do to remove the black tank cover turning the inner pump cage 10mm anti clockwise to free but they refer to S2 S4 and other Audi models so presume they all have a similar removal process.

I don’t want to over stress the plastic cage so can any body tell me which part of the cage you turn. The cage seems to be in two parts, one surrounding the pump which looks like it’s inside a larger cage with damping springs between the two.

The fuel pump outer cage is held in place by a third large orange bracket but I presume this is not disturbed.

I’ve attached a photos of my RS2 fuel pump if any one can help it would be greatly appreciated.
