Second hand anywhere between £500-£800.

One awesome looking bit of kit but is it worth the money performance wise over a simple panel filter?
Doubt it but I'd like to see a KN panel filter stats too. Think the best gain of the Gruppe is the colder air you'll gain.

We're going to dyno before and after on panel filters with our demo.
K&N and Pipercross - be a while yet but interesting reading no doubt when we do it.

No flap, the airbox is totally removed (thus removing the flap) in the kit there is a rubber plug that is used to block the vacuum line. The secondary air injection pipe gets a small air filter too (Crank case breather filter).2manytoys wrote:Does it still use a flap?
If it's a single cold air intake this would be very good. The RS4 has pretty aggressive timing retardation when the intake air is warm.

Hi Sonny
re gruppe M - there were a few posts about them causing tickover problems (i think it was that).
Has yours been okay?
Were looking into a similar (but cheaper) alternative and proving difficult to get the carbon intake done in small volumes at a decent price - just want to make sure it runs fine before we go further.

Hiya Glenn. only thing I have experienced is a drop in revs every say 60 seconds or so, the needle will drop slightly then idle again, but its not a problem. I put it down to the car not being remapped to the GruppeM filter like mine is, so I should really have a fresh remap uploaded. When I had my old GruppeM on the car I never experienced this, may be due to the APS remap I had?
Now you have mentioned it, it has made me think. can you post a link to the tick over problems?

Would a GruppeM not also benefit from a vorsteiner vented hood?sonny wrote:No flap, the airbox is totally removed (thus removing the flap) in the kit there is a rubber plug that is used to block the vacuum line.
