Evidence against abuse of my car at Audi
Evidence against abuse of my car at Audi
Guys i just logged onto my tracker now.
I gave my car in at Audi on thursday (wont say which one at the moment) for a rear leaking shock. They agreed to replace under warranty.
Anyway logged onto my tracker. And let me tell you something about my tracker... its very comprehensive. Tells me everything from Harsh Acceleration to Harsh braking. Top speed done during a journey. Time car started switched off.... as well as having Remote Immobilisation.
And i cant believe what im seeing!!
Started today at 9.46am switched off 10.06am. 19 min journey time.
and in that time period someone from Audi has been ripping the <beep> out of it. 15 Harsh accelerations.... 3 harsh brakings!!
Top speed 57mph what looks like a 30mph road looking at the sat view on tracker. There is no way the car was warmed up properly for starters so it was been driven around like that.
O and they rang me today in afternoon saying your car is done ready and you can come collect tomorrow.
I dont know what else to say? What should i say and to who???

Wouldn't be too hard on them. The technician is maybe trying to find out if there are any knocking sounds from the rear of the car. I assume from the times you stated that this was before the shock was changed. Accelerating or braking hard would change the weight distribution of the car and hopefully show any extra problems with the suspension before he replaces the faulty shock.
Not sticking up for them but i used work in a few dealerships and this would be common practice for help with diagnosis. However, if it was 57mph in a 30 limit then there is no excuse for that.
By the way, What type of Tracker do you have? Sounds like a great bit of kit.

I've had this in the past with other cars.
I asked for an explanation as I said my tracker company had called me as the car was being driven in the manner of being stolen and took a printed report of the details of the trip.
Agree speed on it's own is fine however the harsh acceleration bit is all you need to know. It caries amount different trackers but the g reading required can be very low. This sounds like a fleet management system tracker rather than a security one (although the remote immobilisation bit is nice) and these a generally fitted to White vans or similar. It would be very easy to trip in the rs4 unless it's been set accordingly but agree still not cool. You need to say something as this kind of stuff needs to stop.

Btw I don't agree with the road test. Fine in theory but driving at 60 through a 30 zone at 10am is unacceptable. How would they be able to listen for knocking at that speed? Most complaints ive seen is a knocking at low speed / speed bump.
If they were testing overal then fine but still no need to thrash the car esp from cold.

More commen than any of us want to think about probably...
Would be interested as to the kit though, OP: can you let us know the details, price etc?

Afternoon all.
Yeah the kit is good. I like it alot... I paid installation £400 and £11 per month sub. including remote immobilisation. Would be cheaper if i didnt go down the remote immobilisation route. It is more of a fleet tracker i suppose but remote immobilisation is good for security. I immobilize it when i know it will be parked for some time or i wont be around.
I'd understand if they needed to check for knocking etc. But they checked it all 2 weeks ago and said rear shock needs replacing and booked it in for the work. I dont know but journey was only 4.9miles. I felt 15 harsh accelerations were bit too much considering they'd CHECKED the car already 2 weeks ago and knew what needed doing...
I dont know maybe im being harsh?

go to Audi UK ... their No 1 focus (contrary to popular belief) is Customer Satisfaction ... you will prob end up with an apology from the dealer
Audi will shortly be implementing a customer feedback process whereby you will receive an email asking for your feedback of your dealer experience, the Head of Business will have to read and reply to EACH one ... if its good feedback, they will need to write a nice email, if its poor feedback, they will need to CALL the customer

I suspect it was to warm the oil up - I'd rather have the hard driving than a cold oil change especially at 18000 miles between oil changes (if you go by the book).

Really? so if your car gets further faults due to insufficant testing you are going to complain again to audi,I think thats very unfair ..................how many of you lot can actually say that you all keep to the speed limit? i know i dont

no excuse for that but OP wasn't 100% sure it was a 30...30 zones, in the main, are where people (like you) walk .... try living after being hit at 57mph !
