Has anybody had experiance of a low speed engine rumble that seems to be very noticable on startup but seems to be less obvious as the engine heats up? The noise is particuliarly loud when moving off in low revs in 1st - just as the engine comes under load......its like a bearing/pulley on the way out.
Once the engine has warmed up it is possible to hear the noise when bringing the engine from Idle to maybe 1100RPM. I'm not able to maintain the noise at any revs as it seems to fluctuate slightly which goes against it being a bearing/pulley.
It seems to be coming from the front offside of the engine & from searching this forum could be one of many things. The car is a 2000 with 88k miles & has a FASH with services being carried out every 10k miles or so.
Any help/pointers would be much appreciated.
