Toyo or Yoko

Post by RobK » Mon Feb 09, 2004 12:09 pm

Seeing as I have to buy a new set of tyres, I've searched the archives and it looks like AVS sports and Toyo T1-S are the most popular. Anyone know where to get them cheap, and do either of them come with a 94Y rating?

I've so far been quoted £182.75 for the Yoko and £159.25 for the Toyo, by Micheldever.

Toyo are only 92Y. So is that still a problem for the dealership?

Mitcheldever will be the cheapest around.

You could also try Roadwheel (used to be in Bagshot),
and Martins tyres near the Gordon Boys school.

I'd go with the Toyos any day, but would also look out for some S02s, as I prefer them to both of the above. Downside is they are a bit more pricey though.

Sorry this may or may not help you.
I have recently bought my car and it had 18"Yoko's on them, I have now changed my wheels for 19" with Michelins which for many reasons feel so much better to drive with.
Cost wise not a cheaper option but always worth knowing I feel.
All the best

Pilot Sport 2s sound nice but they're £60 a corner more. Seems a bit of a waste when I probably won't be keeping the car very long.

Personally prefer the Yoko's to the toyo

I found Elite Wheels in Reading cheaper than Micheldiver

Tell them Bushy sent you

I can dig out the fone number if you like

I thought the Pirelli P-Zero was well suited to the RS4?

I got the Toyos in the end. I did call Elite but I got them slightly cheaper from Top Gear Tyres, plus they're nearer work.

Shame the new wheels didn't come with centre caps though, it looks a bit odd with the old ones stuck on as they're a bit scuffed. Anyone know how much a new set is?

I have had my center caps replaced under warranty, as they tend to corrode.
