I just wish the politicians weren't so stupid to put them in places were they are at so much risk.

These pics mean a lot to me as I feel I cheated death and serious injury, with only a sprained ankle and a bruised back.
A guy in a rover 220 pulled out of a layby on my side of the road on a blind bend coming towards me, I came round the bend at 60mph and hit him full on in the rear behind the drivers door , I did a superman over the roof and landed about 30ft down the road and tumbled like a rag doll a further 30ft or so . I wasnt knocked out and I managed to drag my self off the road so I didnt get run over by anyone else. I think someone was looking after me that day lol.
I know it sound cliche but it does make you appreciate life a bit more.

Dougie, you lucky git!
I had exactly the same scenario on my Duke 748, except I hit the front drvrs side wheel/wing at 50 mph. I didn't get off so lightly though. I landed on my head and bounced down the road.
Intubated at roadside & airlifted from scene. GCS of 3 shortly after admittance and touch & go for three days. It was a life changing event for me; ended my career in a flash. Multiple injuries and horrible painful memories. It left me with a traumatic brain injury, double vision, hip & back injuries and on morphine for the rest of my life.
Still, musn't grumble and I never do as there's always somebody worse off. I could have been paralysed but I wasn't. They say 'you never know what's round the corner'. How true, how true...

Your lucky dude, as they say "Ride as fast as your guardian Angle can fly"
Money can't buy you love, but it can buy you a well sorted racecar
Sorry to hear about your injuries, your attitude is inspiring. I was lucky, unbeleivably in fact. My wife begged me not to get another, ive ridden bikes since I was 9 years old. So the week after the accident we bought the rs4 and she loves it.karl wrote:Dougie, you lucky git!
