I have a fair bit of track, but not tried re-creating a circuit.
I have a few nice digital cars. Favourirtes are the DBR9R and Maser LM series ones.... Gonna read the above links after making a cuppa!

Maybe I can bring my track over and we can replicate the Nordschleife in your back garden over a few beers :D

^^ You'd be very welcome.

I can't imagine, my son's face seeing a track like that!
I actually bought some trestle tables, some plywood sheets and some green felt to cover the plywood, to get a nice flat/elevated platform with some 'greenery' for it! I am sad?! :boots:

But watching the LM cars at night with their headlights on and brake lights is brilliant.

GAME ON for the summer time then fella...

PS
Booked Spa for 4th October, and The Ring for Easter. A few tweakes being done at the mo, to push over ther 500bhp limit & lowered :greyrs4:

HA sounds like a plan mate.

Regarding Ring in Easter (wait out), Spa sounds good, but wont book just yet..will have to fit a Brands session in for a bit of a warm up.

I did see you selling bit and pieces from your cart so did wonder what you had up your sleeve. She will be a fantastic ride when complete, will just have to put some coil overs on to stop her being so wibble wobbly, you don't want the B7 "out performing you in the twisty's" hahaha

There's about 10cars going including 3x M3s and 3x RS4s ;)

Sounds good, do you have uprated ARBs? Have you got a separate build thread running?

Sounds like a good trip, M3 and RS's

BTW what Scalextrics kit have you got, I purchased the Le Mans, lots of track. Also purchased a digi lap counter too, this was over 10 years ago, do Technology probably has progressed since then.

Sorry OP for going off piste.

Yes I have Hotchkiss ARBs front and rear. No I haven't got a build thread, but once these current mods are finished I might add a list, as it's been a while since Ive been on here. The wheel change especially.

I bought a Digital 'kit' Christmas before last (had 3x Porker Boxsters). Have bought additional track, could probably do with some more. The track needs a damned good clean TBH, as it's been laying out for a while and is a tad dusty!

Yes they can be used with old track .. make sure its clean as the digital signal is a Digital Waveform so creates a lot more Sparking on dirty tracks leading to power loss / performance .. As an absolute minimum you will need a new PSU and new Control unit and new Hand Throttles to use the digital cars

Alos would need converter sections of track if using new track

Digital track is here

6 Car Power Base

Uprated PSU

Hand controller
http://www.scalextric.com/shop/track/po ... ler-c7002/

Or there are 3rd part hand controllers etc

Its great fun .. with a 6 Car Power base you can have 6 cars running on a circuit .. using the lane change sections you can swop lanes your running on for overtaking etc . so no need to make inside and outside track lengths the same for fairness etc

With the latest (or older modified power bases) you can hook up a PC and run software to do Full circuit yellows (reduced speed) Pit stops with simulated refuelling, ghost cars based upon your best / average lap times, set up races for number of laps (GP style) or for time (endurance races)

Great fun

That is excellent thanks G. Can you purchase just the metal track, i.e the metal bit that the cars slot into?

many folk build their own tracks from scratch. Take plywood board, use a router to cut the slot and the attached copper braided tape to either side of the slot for the conductors. Advantages are ANY shape, curve, corner can be created .. Disadvantage is its permanent

OK that could be very cool. Even better if they had the metal runner using more of a racing line when going around the corners would make it very realistic, obviously cars then could crash. Does Digital stop that from happening, can the cars sense there next too each other?

Yup .. most "made" tracks bring corners into racing lines so two cars cannot pass and its all tactics

Digital does nothing to stop a crash .. Its the old game rules .. Either if a car comes off a full course yellow (reduced speed) is enforced for the others until the crashed car is replaced usually in the "worse" position ie just after lap counter so it has to do a near full lap to catch up as penalty .. or it can be all Cars stop and restart (thats the play nice rule) .. or the ultimate, your off and your out (works well to stop crashes)
