RE: Queries

I think if I like the TTRS then the RS3 isn't going to be a million miles away with added practicality.

If I don't like the TTRS then the RS3 isn't going to be better.

Problem is I can't get a drive in a TTRS yet.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to like it.

make sure you find some twisty roads Steve, thats when the DSG comes into its own as the changes are so seamless you really can make superb progress with two hands planted on the wheels

+1

I often wished the RS4 had DSG on the track (just for track mind).

To be fair even if the TTRS was a good ride, its still a TT.

Guy I work with has a manual TTRS which i've driven and its a right little monster..prob not quite as quick as the RS4 but not far off.

since then he has bypassed the 2 middle cats and had a remap (bluefin) .... in his own words savage and unrelenting

currently gets 26-28 MPG, which is pretty good as he was getting 35 from his 335D, whereas I got 40/42 from mine (I'm getting 25 from the RS4)

I do use both the rear window blinds and rear heated seats in my RS6 but granted not essential at all.

Will miss the v8 for sure.

Steve,

I specced one up last week and was v similar to you, but I think I went for the matt/brushed aluminium look rather than the all black option. Having seen a few more pics of the car in daytona from the '1st reviews' floating around from various mags at the moment I think it will look much better in the flesh than I first thought!

If you have small people to go in the back then I would personally still go for privacy glass AND rear blinds....I wish I had the OEM blinds in the back of my RS4 avant (which has privacy glass) as in summer I still have to stick on aftermarket blinds to shield junior from the sun....!

Look forward to hearing how you get on with everything!

I have 3 small people and have privacy and blinds in the rs6 and use them.

My wifes car will still be the main family motor, hence the downsize, but I hope to drive this a lot and so want to know I can still get everyone in for a day trip or two.

Kids all in boosters now and 2 the small base ones so should just squeeze them in.

Anyone got a good product for going under the seat to protect the leather?

See loads but just looking for personal feedback.

Thanks

Cant seem to find any pics with roof rails. I may look like a mini Avant with the roof rails, which ain't a bad thing. But then again, they do create drag  The smooth roof does look good.

Are you going for Black optics?

Yep going for black optics. It will be look only.

I can get a pic but using the Audi configurator.

Don't the TTRS (and presumably) the RS3 have the 'anti-tuning' box ticked? I know MRC did a TTRS and after 3 weeks the map went back to standard and the engine management light was on stating ECU issue (something like that). I think they can now get around it but it takes a while.

The only thing i dont like is the povrty spec exhaust outlets...they should have put twin ovals ala RS Style.

Whilst I like Avants with rails, I think the A3/RS3 looks better without.

I could be tempted with the RS3 (2nd hand, in 12 months time) and can't wait to see it in the flesh.
