Copenhagen road trip
Copenhagen road trip
Hi all,
Driving to Copenhagen in a fortnight. Driving donw to Hull from Glasgow then over to Rotterdam.
Haven't taken the beast over before, what things do I need to consider before going?
Euro plates...
Headlights?
Anything else?

irvind,
Some colleagues were discussing this last week and apparently the French, in an effort to generate more revenue to offset govt cutbacks, are nailing GB drivers left, right and centre at the moment and there is a high chance of being pulled over to check you are carrying all the right equipment...
One of the guys mentioned that you now need 2 x Hi Vis onboard the car too?!
Just be very sure what the latest requirements are as it sounded like they were adding items to the list and being extremely pedantic about it all....
Have a good trip!

I take my netbook and VCDS lead with me, and change the setting while in the tunnel or on the ferry.

I got pulled over by the French cops last summer for speeding, they couldn't speak any English, but they had a little translation handbook which said I needed to show my vehicle registration document, which I guess is that V5 document aka log book.
I'm not sure if it's a legal requirement, but they definitely wanted to see it.
I didn't have mine, but I did have some other paperwork with my name & address on, which was good enough for them to see that the vehicle belonged to me.
After that, the French copper turned to a page in his translation handbook that said:
"You have been let off with a friendly warning. Please drive carefully"
Result!
