Yep, Nav and Nav+ (one with colour screen) we're both available on the S3, although not right at the beginning I think. Pretty rare on this car though but there's at least one person on here with it and I'm sure they'll tell you more

Cheers

Ryan, nice car mate - glad you got one - looking forward to seeing how you get on with the tuning side of things!

Anyway, here is a picture of Sat Nav+ on a 02 S3

Hi dunc,
Intrested in learning about these aftermarket chips, are they actually mapped on the "rolling road" or just fitted?I will probably do away with the afm or maf as you call it and fit a motec with a map sensor, then i can let everyone know the true limits of the injectors .There seems to be some very dubious claims going about like 290bhp and over 300lb/t with just a chip upgrade which i find very hard to believe. The tuners i use produce the turbos for wrc cars and tune alot of the marcos series cars so there dyno is absolutly spot on,so i can see what the "real" sort of figures the s3 can produce.thanks Ryan

Never seen Nav on a 99 car. The basic Nav uses the DIS in the dash to display directions etc, none of the stero facia is changed for this. The one with the screen uses a different facia like in the pic that Dunc posted. I'm guessing that this version was not available until the facelift in late '00. Really need to drag out a brocure from somewhere to be exact though.

I don't know who told you of a 290BHP remap, 265 is pretty much the norm. 300ft is pretty normal for a remap though, sometimes a tiny bit more.

All the best with the S3 mate.

Ben

PS, don't fancy a FMIC do you?

Waks TT runs at 290BHP. Not just a remap as he has exhaust, FMIC, air intake mods etc.
PM on it's way.

Cheers

There is a post on Audi-sport where a chip only car got 290 bhp and 300 lb/ft.

My car on AMD rollers showed 260 bhp and 301 lb/ft. Where do they get an extra 30 bhp from? I mean that is only 6 bhp less than Simon Elmans car which has been modded heavily.

Interesting topic. getting a bit out of my depth. Sounds like the chap had it mapped for his preferences and could be kicking out a shed load of boost, or have mods that he didn't know about. Be interesting to see how that car performs in the future - relaibility etc. He may just have a lucky one. The git
