I have some questions about the 0-60 or in my case 0-100kmph (do not want to fool more peeps) as I once mentioned i did a 0-60 in 3.2 secs with my stock RS6. 
I have performance box and that is how I did my runs.
the first run I did I did with Tt in D and floored the pedal.. best result: 0-60 3.2s and 0-100 5.3s
two weeks later I tried again this time Tt in S two runs results: 0-60 in 2.7 and 2.6s 0-100 strangly enough in both cases 5.2s (ohh and uhm I had the ESP still on)
I was wondering why the end result remains the same as where my 0-60 at best was .6s faster?
Is this normal behaviour? if not what would/could be the cause. What can I check, as I do have Vagcom.
I know about a the launch technic of a Canadian Pal who did a 3.5s: step on the brakes and use the throttle until about 2k RPM then release and then floor the throttle and passing 2kRPM again release the brake...and off you go.
I have never done this (yet) as it is ofcourse a huge strain on the Tt (as he has proven) and I want to try and keep mine working.

I believe the performance box is GPS based, that's what causes the time difference probably not that the car was actually .6 faster to 60 k's. I have used GPS loggers for acceleration measurements and sometimes you will get a few tenths faster time somewhere because the GPS speed calculation sometimes makes a little jump, and then you "lose" the same amount of time right after that when it gets back to the correct speed. I suspect an accelerometer based box like a g-tech RR. I've got one of these and they're precise to about 1 second 
It is wildly affected by even slight inclines and disturbances, so unless you have a handy salt flat nearby they are next to useless (for absolute measurements, anyway). I have given up on it for anything other than before / after stuff on the same road (and in the same direction).
I use the accelaration test of the Vagcom now. The timing is good and the VSS is accurate enough to get a good idea of your 0-60.
Don't think I ever got better than 5.0 or 5.2. Can't remember now.

Checked, it is GPS. That explains the anomaly. They will be accurate 90% of the time anyway, near 100% if the run is long enough (it gets more accurate as the rate of acceleration drops because you are limited by the update frequency of the GPS)
I use freeware racechrono and a bluetooth 5Hz GPS unit, it's amazingly accurate in the right conditions. To less than .1 of a second and for less than 50 quid total.PerformanceBox is a GPS based Performance meter for measuring your vehicle's speed, g-force and handling and helps you improve your track driving skills.

Not tried it yet with the 6!
The 850 managed a 5.8 0-60mph once with front wheel drive, a quaife diff and semi slicks IIRC.
