Time to check your auxiliary radiators...
..I had a quick look at mine while on a ramp and was amazed at the crud in there so very soon it's grilles off and vacuum on.
(the crud retains moisture and eventually causes corrosion of the rads)

Yep, mine are slowly dripping now, been quoted off Audi £610 to sort including labour. Will see if my 3rd party warranty will cover it, mmm...neckarsulm wrote:..I had a quick look at mine while on a ramp and was amazed at the crud in there so very soon it's grilles off and vacuum on.

Is that to replace the pair ? I keep mine clean but am beginning to have my suspicions about them...wrekka wrote:Yep, mine are slowly dripping now, been quoted off Audi £610 to sort including labour. Mrc will probably fit it for less, and you can probably get genuine replacement rads from gsf or similar for a lot less than audi money
RE: Re: Time to check your auxiliary radiators...
Mrc go 1 better they get rid of the o/s one and that pesky airbox flap aswell lol
RE: Re: Time to check your auxiliary radiators...

in the bumper there are 3 grilles, behind the 2 outer ones are the aux rads. You may need a torch.

can't see why notThis was a common problem with Porsches too. Are the leaves removable without putting the car up on a ramp?

Not so sure they do remove the o/s aux. rad. Do they not remove the vacuum pump and route a length of piping direct to the bottom feed of the standard air box via the removed flap opening?lengster1 wrote:Mrc go 1 better they get rid of the o/s one and that pesky airbox flap aswell lol

It's a common problem on the B6/B7 S4 as well. In fact it was so common on the B6 S4 that they redesigned this area on the B7, but it still seems to be a problem area (I had my OS one replaced in 2009).klauster wrote:had mine replaced under warranty, apparantly its a common problem on the RS4 so the dealer said

Problem with RS4 one is that while the honeycombe prevents less debris getting down there compared to single slat of B7 S4, its much harder to see

The honeycomb grills just pull out with a good tug...very easy..clean out...then they just clip back on...simples!!
I clean mine out every month...all kinds of debris gets in there!!!
