Can I add a DAB module without too much hassle? Is there an AUX socket in an RNSE?
Happy to go to a professional fitter to do this.
DAB for RNSE on my RS6 ?
RE: DAB for RNSE on my RS6 ?
If you have software 650 loaded then you can enable the AUX inputs. These are on the 32 pin TV connector.
There is no factory option, but if you can find a decent in car DAB module you feed it into these inputs.

As craigyb says there's no OE DAB option for the RNS-E - you can only get a factory DAB module for the MMI system.
Remember that an external DAB tuner connected to the Aux in won't be contolled by the RNS-E, so you'll need either to use a remote or to mount the DAB where you can safely reach it.

Guys, apologies for dragging this chestnut up again.
I have a need to listen to BBC Radio 6! How?
Is there any newer tech to allow for DAB integration into RNS-E?
I'm considering plumbing an iPod Classic into the system. Is a Dension unit the best way forward sound quality being paramount!? Are there any other hdd-based alternatives controllable from the RNS-E menus?
Not sure I have a need for Bluetooth, but is the Dension BT kit reliable and effective?

There's no OE DAB tuner suitable for the RNS-E. One option would be to fit the Aux In to the RNS-E and connect a third party DAB tuner using that.Digger wrote:Is there any newer tech to allow for DAB integration into RNS-E?
AFAIK the sound quality of all the iPod kits for the RNS-E is much the same.Digger wrote:I'm considering plumbing an iPod Classic into the system. Is a Dension unit the best way forward sound quality being paramount!? Are there any other hdd-based alternatives controllable from the RNS-E menus?
Don't know of any HDD controllable from the RNS-E - AMI isn't an option since that only works with a 2010 RNS-E in an A3, TT or R8.
Bluetooth is only for phones, so that's not relevant to your iPod Classic.Digger wrote:Not sure I have a need for Bluetooth, but is the Dension BT kit reliable and effective?

Doh! I'd forgotten that BBC Radio 6 is on terrestrial Freeview so does the oem hybrid/analogue Freeview TV widget also provide these same digital radio stations?
