I would be right up for a Highlands trip depending on when it is. Being a fanatical hill-walker and having lived in the Highlands for a few years I know pretty much all the roads around the country so I would be happy to organise the Scottish side of the trip.
Biggest problem may be planning where to get 'decent' fuel. As regards time of year I would recommend late April or May,- usually the best weather and not so many poxy caravans/motorhomes around. This time of year also suits me best!
Oh, and the midgies are not out by then either!

Non-standard car versus non-standard bike....sounds like a fair fight.

Of course, I could get a turbo fitted before then....

These guys built my bike.

I think most if not all bikers have been down the road at some stage.

My B5 should have its suspension done by whenever this trip is planned for, but if the weather is good, I think I'd still prefer to hit these roads again on my bike.

Not because I think I'll be faster than a bunch of tuned B7's but because riding a bike on great roads with some mates is an even better experience than driving a car in the same circumstances.

That said I melted my fairing the last time I went out on it so I need to get that sorted....

OK, I believe it is safe to say that the trip is best organised for the Highlands. So alternative dates are:

April 22nd to 25th
April 29th to May 2nd (bank holiday)
May 6th
May 13th
May 20th
May 27th
June 3rd
June 10th
June 17th

Any later and we get close to school holidays and insect peak season. Any earlier and I believe we may get snow in areas!

People's thoughts?
