Just had my Insurance renewal turn up.
I bought my RS6 a year ago now and paid out £440 with Aviva. I'm 40 with three kids, live in a nice area and the car is put away in the garage overnight.
Aviva now want £546, oh but they will give me a massive £20 discount if I renew online.
I gave them a call last night to discuss the almost 25% increase in my premium. The customer service person I spoke to didn't have a clue, not only was english a second language to him but he just didn't grasp it when I explained that inflation isn't that high. He couldn't give me a reason for the massive increase other then I now live a high car crime area, which I don't.
Has anyone else seen there Insurance renew increase massively? Also any recommendations other then trying confused.com?

Insurance has increased a lot recently. Just google car insurance premiums and you'll see so many articles on it. People are just claiming so much these days for anything and everything.
All these dodgy compensation claims make it even worse.
Believe it or not, keeping your car in a garage will raise your premium.
According to insurance underwriters; people who have garages are more likely to claim on their insurance policies. I told the last call handler i'll park my car on the road instead and the price went down by £25

Same. The price kept coming down as I went from Garage, to driveway, to street. Perhaps I should have said it was in a local dark unlit train station car park with no security cameras over night.Sikosid wrote: Believe it or not, keeping your car in a garage will raise your premium.

Just did a quote online with aviva using the reg of a simular car to mine and suprise suprise, £400 was the quote. Now why do insurance companies never reward any kind of loyalty, they just seem to want new business every time. Just waiting for quotes to come back from Adrain Flux and Sky Insurance.
