Sportec 19", and bent std 19"

Post by Alan » Tue Feb 10, 2004 12:04 am

Well I've finally got my 19" Sportec wheels fitted, and IMHO the car looks great

web page

However, the day before I collected them (thanks again Damian if you read this I hit the pothole also at the above link and wrecked two of the standard wheels
I couldn't avoid it, traffic coming the other way and as you can see this monster covered half of my side of the road!

And I was only doing 50-60mph, had the parents on board

Now there is no way I can blame the quality/strength of the wheel, but what I will rant about is the state of our roads

This was NOT a country back-route, it's an "A" road that is a very busy cut through from the M11 to the A1M

I'd be sending that photo of to the local council with a pic of the wheels and a bill, no way would I
let them get away with that.

I have done this twice with Essex Council and had the cheque within 1 month both times, you must send a picture and state exactly where and when it happened.

Simple

Sent off yesterday...that's why I took the picture

Mind you good job I did, went back past it yesterday and it'd been filled!

That could be because someone else has also claimed against that hole

Good luck - let us know the outcome

I did the same thing with Herts CC and got the full payment a little later. My BMW 18'' alloy badly damaged by a series of deep potholes near where I used to live.

Good luck!
