Fuel prices
Just wondering who is getting the best deal on V power etc around the country?
I'm in the Preston area and in the last 2 weeks it has krept up from 124.9p to the best I could get today for Vpower at 129.9! And the guy in the station said: .. and don't forget it's going up with the VAT increase and will also be going up in Jan as well!
Great!
Was reading in EVO mag that Saudi are paying about 20p a litre!!!

Vpower
24/10/12 121p
13/11/10 123.9p
12/12/10 125.9p
That combined with £435 road tax makes me think "where's my f*!#*!% rebate for cycling to work?!"
Utter mess.
I'm in Clevedon near Bristol.

Never mind filling in potholes after the cold weather, I want red carpet to drive on with this amount of tax extraction going on and 2p/month increase
RE: Re: RE: Fuel prices
It's called 'taking the piss' and we, as a nation seem to love it. Well, we do bugger all about it anyway. Just think if we all said 'no, enough is enough!' and everyone downed tools. It needs us all to pull together as one but how do we do that?
127.9 is the best I can get. But 2.5% increase plus 1p fuel duty equates to a 4p/litre increase as of tomorrow. Get yourself to the pump today and fill up if anything to have a week's worth of cheaper motoring.
The worrying bit is that the last time prices were like this crude prices were approx. $40 per barrell or a third percentage wise higher then they are today so theoretically we are going to be FCUKed later this year.

Update: Just filled up in Clevedon nr Bristol to beat the 1/1/11 fuel duty increase:
Vpower
24/10/12 121p
13/11/10 123.9p
12/12/10 125.9p
31/12/10 130.9p
So it's gone up 5p/l in the last ~2.5 weeks regardless of tax. At least it's still relatively cheap compared with the other costs of running a sports car. It just angers me to pay more tax for them to waste on duck ponds, mistakes and other needless <beep>.

I'm seriously thinking of selling, i've had 3 years of virtually trouble free motoring, but now i need 4 new tyres, maybe pads and discs plus any other problems that may crop up and i think these continual fuel tax rises will put a lot of would be buyers, off our cars and i can see values plumetting!!!
I can see me spending thousands of pounds this year and i'm thinking, i've had my fun, enough is enough i'm afraid.................
