A little chrimbo pressie for the Mrs is it? :-)

With all this good feedback I'm going to order a set now that my OEM standard mats are worn.

Damien - Don't suppose you have any pics of the gunmetal with blue stitching you could post on this thread?
Unfortunately not, which is a shame as I think the combination works really well. The customer who ordered a set needed them in a hurry so we didnt have time to photograph them.

If you're concerned about there being too much blue, if you place your order on the phone rather than online, we could arrange a blue outer edging, with a black trim around the heel pad. This will prolong the life of the heel pad trim as it wont show dirt so easily, and will 'tone down' the blue to a certain extent.
apolgies if they're dumb questions or have already been answered
No such thing as dumb questions, only stupid answers!
1. What's the exact difference technical between solid and stiched edging?

2. I presume that the mats are the same for a B7 RS4 Saloon and Avant?

3. What colour would you recommend for the mat and edging for a Mugello Blue RS4 Avant with a black interior? (I'm assuming black mats but unsure about the edging)

1. Solid edging consists of a nylon tape, that is stitched into the mat edging, over and under. Solid edging is extremely hard wearing, but not quite as 'pretty' as my girlfriend would put it.

Stitched edging is made 100% from cotton thread, and is 'overlocked' around the mat edge. The majority of pics in this forum show this option, and this is what you would get if you ordered your mats from Audi.

2. Saloon and Avant are the same mats, yes.

3. See comment above from Sevy who is asking the same question. A blue trim works nicely, but might be a bit bright for some people. We can tone it down a little by using blue edging around the mat edges, and black trim around the heel pad. Bear in mind that a SOLID blue edging is quite bright, so for a more subtle look I would go for a blue stitched edging.

Most people on the forum have ordered gunmetal mats, not black, as they are a close match to Audis charcoal carpets.
Online ordering doesn't seem to be working at the moment.
Apologies if you're having trouble. I think it is due to the overseas shipping configuration, so for UK orders it is working fine. You could always call us on 0845 5194670 (+44 845 5194670)

Great, pleased you're happy with them. Any chance of you posting some pics of the S3 mats fitted? Alternatively, we'd really appreciate it if you could email us some pics ! :D

I've just put a ring on my girlfriends finger, which was quite expensive, so I told her shes getting a new iron and a microwave this year, and thats it. I've not heard from her recently, her car is gone and her wardrobes empty.........

Had mine delivered today (charcoal with black trim, heel-pad and front/back logos).
They look ace... but will probably wait for the cr*ppy weather to pass before fitting.

Hi Brooner

I'm really keen to see these too. Obviously we've seen the mats (we made them!) but I'm intrigued as to how they will look in the car.

Just to clarify Timsters comment, charcoal is an Audi carpet. Our equivalent (and the one that everyone on here seems to be ordering) is gunmetal. JUst wanted to clear this up, as we've had a few people ordering anthracite by mistake.

One thing I noticed when I ordered my mats was that I was unable to specify the edging type (I could only specify the colour). It looked as if the ordering screens were being updated. Anyway, my mats are waiting for me at home so i'l post pictures when I can so that others can get an idea of how they'll look. I think I ordered the gunmetal ones with a grey edge.

...I'm that close to knowing exactly Wat spec of mat I want but stil can't decide whether to go for heal pad or not. I initially wasn't going to because wanted to maintain the oem look (neither the standard nor rs4 optional mats have heal pad) . Plus it appears heal pad upsets the smooth lines and neatness of the Matt, like an afterthought add on. But saying all that, all of u have gone for the heal pad. Does nobody else share my views lol? . I know it gives the benefit of wear n tear and mat can be sent back for replacement heal pad on an otherwise old/used probably scruffy lookin mat. I wonder if it would be cost effective to just not pay extra for a heal pad and order an extra driver side mat along with the full set?? What do u reckon mycarmats?

^ I share your view. I didn't go for the heel pad. It's just personal preference but I like the smooth look!

I've gone for the heel mat on all my cars after Audi OE mats wore through in under 3 years on my previous S4, so far after 4 1/2 years use there's no sign of wear.
