Red tyre pressure warning - won't reset
Red tyre pressure warning - won't reset
Have got the red tyre pressure warning on (maybe due to very cold weather and not driving car for two weeks). All tyres equal and all down a few psi due to intense cold.
However, cannot seem to reset it. The SET button on the RS steering wheel will only cycle between the big full screen red flat tyre and the lap timer. I cannot seem to get to the menu to permit me to resst the tyre pressure warning system.
I did read something regarding it taking 20 mins to work itself out - and I may not have driven it that long.
However, anyone know if i have a fault, and if so what to do?
Thx.

I had the same happen a while back.
Are you trying to reset with the engine running? if so try with ignition on but dont start her up.
This worked for me.

check its not a tyre with a line through it, if this is the case its what happened to mine and you require a new sender/receiver which could have gone faulty...

I had same problem - all typre pressures spot on but the warning wouldnt go off no matter what I tried. Luckily it was booked in for some work at the dealers a couple of days later so they reset it for me.

My thoughts exactly - I had the same problem after a tyre change and eventually figured this outsumdy wrote:I had the same happen a while back.

I had exactly the same last Monday.
Ended up going to the dealer who found a nail in front offside tyre.
Reset fine after tyre repaired.

Re: Red tyre pressure warning - won't reset
If the pressures are down enough they will be below the warning (yellow) threshold, hence it will show a red warning. I think (with the standard coding) that happens at 2.2bar.rjkflyer wrote:all down a few psi due to intense cold.

And the right answer is: reset with ignition on but without engine running. All fine now.
Thanks people!
P.S. a failed sender yields a YELLOW tyre with line through it.

RE: Re: Red tyre pressure warning - won
I had a red warning last week, purely due to the cold dropping the pressures. Quite surprised they dropped that much, TBH.
