Can't believe that you've gone through those pads already Dunc ! you were the last person to have them fitted too

i make them £55 ?

Paul, i just checked with Porscheshop.co.uk and although they list them as £55, they are in fact £75 + VAT.

Type911 seem to be the cheapest at £66 + VAT

Both when asked if they were genuine pads said yes, and when i said who makes them (I said is it Mintex?) they both said Textar.

Porscheshop also do EBC Greenstuff pads too for these brakes, £98 + VAT, but I have had no problems with the standard pads so I will stick with them for now.

So looks like its going to be type911 then!

PS I emailed Gert in Belgium but his prices were not as competitive.

Thnaks for all the links/advice

Pads are on and feel fine - just a note, the low brake pad sensor doesnt fit, so dont bother buying that from here.

dust on the 993 TT pads is better than standard, but not as good as the greenstuffs. my car is now back on the standard Audi brakes and the dust is horrendous!!

A question re: greenstuff. My local workshop recommended that if i put greenstuff on the 933tt's then I should put greenstuff on the rears..

is that true??

how are greenstuff on your porsche/audi rotors with standard street driving?

IMO the greenstuffs are slightly harsher than the other pads i've had, thus wearing out the disc quicker and could also run slightly hotter.. For the geeks, the coefficient of friction is higher or something!!

BTW shouldn't matter if you have standard pads on the rear..

One other thing I forgot to mention. When replacing the pads it was seen that the rotors were a bit loose. So next time you have the wheels off check the screw that holds the rotor in place.
