£6-£7K, you need to think you got away lightly, then you'll feel better.

My last 6 was as sorted as it gets, cam belt, wagners, H&R's, Hotchkiss ARB's, blah blah, all the usual 6 issues SORTED.
Drove it for 6 months and POP, £7K gearbox. Imagine your troubles had you had that, it's not uncommon.
It took me 3 months to source that car and the clinch was the warranty. They of course paid the £7K, after I spent £5K in the one year on tyres, disks and pads and an 80K service! Its the way it goes with these 6's you can't odd's it.
Your car will sell, just wait for the right buyer to find you.....They will.

I flatout refuse to talk about how much I've spent since December last year, hence, I'm never selling.

:D lovely observation there dk! Have enjoyed this thread - I hope would-be owners stumble across it and get an authentic taste of RS6 ownership. Though I distinctly remember donning rose-tinted glasses as I trawled the forums trying to work out how much it would really cost to run a '6!

Mooch, it must be satisfying to see your legacy live on ...

Y'know, a gentle reminder from time to time that RS6 ownership ACTUALLY costs money, and even if the DRC has been swapped out and your gearbox doesn't blow up then it'll still cost you a fortune in petrol and TLC ... and then you won't get back what you paid for it.

Wouldn't swap mine for the world! :beerchug:

its true, they cost a bstard fortune to run but its the best car I've ever driven/looks stunning. I've got a good friend who works for me and obviously we share an office. He drives a fiesta and sits there laughing at me everytime I spend money on Super Six and says "if you had a fiesta it'd have only cost you x" laughing his @ss off.. The biggest repair bill he's ever had in 10 yrs is 300 quid - stark contrast huh... doesn't make me want a fiesta though..
