There's a lot of info on this car when it got sold through a dealer auction web site here at end of September, I went and physically saw it!
99% sure it's the same one.

HPI clear just means an insurance company hasn't declared it a write off which in this case is because the owner hasn't made a claim. Don't be fooled into thinking it means a car has never been damaged.how can that be HPI clear?
I was going to say that if it was still worth £50k an insurer would repair it and it would still be HPI clear but looking at the damage I doubt they would so it really is a breaker regardless of what the seller says.
The VIN sticker is on that side too so not sure if that can ever look right once repaired

Yes but only if the car hasn't been paid out by an insurer.that makes a mockery of the HPI system then.
lets assume someone unscrupulous buys it back from the insurer, does it up himself on the cheap and sells it. are you saying an HPi check wont show a catastrophic crash in the history?
What's more of an issue is that if a 50k RS4 has 30k worth of damage the insurer can choose to repair it rather than pay out £50k to replace the car. Now even though this has caused a claim, because the car wasn't written off it wont be on HPI.
HPI is only interested in car that have been written off by an insurance company.
So that red RS4 hasn't been written off but it probably is beyond economic repair

Hpi is no gaurantee that the car is straight,as neckarsulm says a car could of had a serious prang when newish and had a hefty repair including jigwork or maybe even a re shell,at least all the parts will be legit and new but its still not a staight car is it?its just not recorded.Ive viewed many on dealers forecourts that have seen action way beyond a little bit of paint and a new wing! To be really sure you need to do full inspection or get someone from a bodyshop to inspect it aswell as a full hpi check,i wouldnt like to be in this particular car if it was crashed again,a proper splice in of a new section of A post with staggered joints will make a good repair but i bet it gets cut n shut in!
