B7 S4 Avant Buying Advice please

I'm looking at buying a 2005/2006 S4 Avant, I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what to look out for. Do they have many problems ? Is it a good Audi to buy ??

I have a 2005 B7 S4 Avant (manual) and I think it is a good car but i'm biased.

A couple of issues I have encountered is the glovebox damper becoming stiff and breaking the glove box hinge, £100 in parts plus fitting and the tailgate lock microswitch failing which causes a fault indicator on the DIS. The rear wash wipe jet seems to block regularly but nothing significant.

Other than usual concerns such as consumption of super unleaded, currently 21mpg and tyres every 14-15k miles I am very pleased with it.

Only caution would be, if money is tight this is not the car to buy.

Look for oil and coolant leaks under either corner of the front bumper, it's a good sign the the aux radiators are on the way out, a very common problem.
