Brakes & stopping power

Post by 1781cc » Mon Oct 18, 2010 3:14 pm

Hi peeps,

Looking for some advice on replacement front discs and brake pads. I have a B6 S4 and although the pads have life, the discs dont and really judder now when heavy braking.

Brakes are the bane of my driving history, I smash them quick for some reason.

I need some good pads that can handle the pace as I am a notorious late braker, and some discs that can cope without warping.

Try JH Motorsports, I had their uprated disks with HPS blue street pads. Never had any probs after that. stopped alot better. Also fitted braided lines and motul rbf600 fluid.

sweet mother of lord you must be hard on the brakes.
Some of the b5 s4 boys with big power use the brakes off our cars.
Can't help you cause i find the standard brakes fine.
Would be worth investigating the above though

dunc
previous- Pug 205 gti, 306 gti, 309 gti Goodwood.
Audi S3, S4 V8 avant.
Porsche Macan Turbo.
Gone but NEVER forgotten - C5 RS6 Misano red avant.

Now - Empty garage

If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there!

cheers for the replys, I am thinking that these discs need replacing anyway because they were on the car when I bought it over a year ago, so maybe standard ones arent too bad, but knowing my history... (supras, integra DC2, predules, quattro)

I was thinking along the line of grooved and drilled discs? to help stop glazing and I know Pagid pads have a better rep than EBC yellow

I've got OE discs and EBC yellows all round and they are great and very very low dust and keep all the sensors
