For the right car/price I'd happily travel all day for it. It's only one day, but the first day of that car ownership and enjoyment.
S4 / RS4 - I just don't get it
While S4 can get tuned to be as fast or faster than RS4 it still is an S4. It is really hard to beat the RS4, top of the line, ultimate B5, ultimate Audi for some. Fastest estate car in its times, almost a legend. 380 horsepower and 0-60 in less than 5 seconds... back in 2000!! That was just insane.
I remember how crazy I got about it when I have read the first drive impressions in one of polish magazines.
Less then 2 years later one was mine.
Oh and my car was actually delivered to my door by previous owner... so no fun way back home as first impression
8 years later I love it just as much as during day one, maybe even more. I just cannot explain it, I feel so at home in this car. Just love to get into it for a ride even after driving other nice cars like SLs, M3s etc.
When I leave it at the parking lot there is no power to stop me from at least one look over my shoulder at those beautiful wide arches....
RS4... it is just magic. And you cannot place a price tag there

If the RS4's were just 2k more, then young skint upstarts (like me) would buy them instead of S4's. Then there would be a battle to buy every available RS4 that came on the market, pushing the demand way beyond supply and in turn pushing the price up so that young skint upstarts (like me) wouldn't be able to afford them. Then there would be a post on a Forum about why are RS4's so much more than S4's and the whole cycle would start again.

Strange comment from someone who doesnt put his aprox. location in his profile?liffy99 wrote:PS - any reason why FS adverts never seem to advertise an aprox. location ? It's really time wasting pursuing something of interest to find that it's 250 miles away !

The train journey, final deal and drive back. Now that's a good day out.
Wouldn't miss it for the world.
For topic: S4 is just an S4.
An S4 can be just as special to someone as an RS4 is to you lot who own one. Some people may only want to drive a saloon and not an estate. S4 wideboy for example have the best of both worlds looks wise and performance if tuned. There are alot of S4's out there that have more power than RS4's and vice versa. The RS4 cost more money because it's a rare motor and will become a classic. You cant knock a decent S4 though they still hold there own and still look well against alot of modern cars.....Just my 2p bit
And the fact that i've got an S4
I've had it 6.5 years and still enjoy it like the day i got it

Hmmm, its fast but is it fast enough!!!
...yes! Every man (or woman) has their taste!s4-99 wrote:An S4 can be just as special to someone as an RS4 is to you lot who own one. Some people may only want to drive a saloon and not an estate. (no downplaying of an S4 intended - realized just now, as it could have sounded like)
