RNS-D to RNS-E upgrade = TMC question

Hi,

I have a suitable RNS E for the RS6, Kufatec cables arrived, read all the posts and the usual websites and PDF's etc

BUT

Where is the TMC Unit in the RS6 C5 ?

I think I need to connect the can bus from the TMC to the cable (there are two wires to do this on the kufatec cable) and then connect the two TMC antenna cables together, and remove the TMC unit itself.

I think this is correct, but I am unsure where the TMC unit is located in my car any pics or details much appreciated - I have looked both here and on other forums and the net - all say remove etc some say drivers side knee bouloster ? but dont really indicate where it is clearly.

Any help or url's would be much appreciated

Any views ./ suggestions on the upgrade also appreciated as well.

left hand side of the cluster, just behind the knee bolster. to bypass it you can remove the drivers knee bolster and get access to the wires and antenna cables. to remove it you will need the cluster out as well.

All done and working isnt the RNS- E better !!!!

Only thing apparently not working is TMC (crossed out), I assume that this is because I only have a 2004 DVD (the RNS-E was meant to be sold to
me with a 2010 DVD !!!).

If I get a later one with updated software will this turn on ?

I have connected the TMC antenna cables together and the CAN is working as lights and dash display etc are all fully functional _ don't think I missed anything out.

Am I correct about DVD ? or did I miss something
